First Aid Training for Driving Instructors
The Driving Instructors Association (DIA) is advising driving instructors to undergo first aid training courses. Driving instructors are relatively high-mileage drivers and are more likely to come across accident situations than the average motorist. There may also be occasions where their pupils are involved in injury accidents and where some first aid knowledge is handy.
The British Red Cross has tried, but failed, to have the driving test include some basic questions on the subject of first aid. They still feel strongly that an introduction to first aid education would be a good thing to incorporate into the training of anyone who wishes to learn to drive. Many European countries already require some form of first aid knowledge by persons wishing to drive.
Consider your own occupation. Is it one where you may expect to have close contact with an accident situation? Do you drive for a living? Are you involved in any form of dangerous or physically active procedures in the course of your job? Would first aid training be useful to you? If so, check out our First Aid Training packages and see how you might benefit.
