First Aid - on a Bike!
Dorset man James Ryan has saddled up to provide first aid cover on his bicycle. He covers a 3 square miles area and works in conjunction with the police and CCTV operators.
He boasts an impressive response time from only 30 seconds and has been running his service for 5 years. But, he needs financial support and this year it is being provided by local esatate agents Changing Homes of Weymouth in the form of a £50 donation for every house they sell. James expects to make £500 a month for his Cycling Response Unit from this sponsorship.
Not only does this sound like a worthwhile venture, it has the capacity to earn its operatives a reasonable sum of money into the bargain. Publicity for the sponsors also goes down well as the service is picked up by local media.
Could you perform a similar service in your locality? A first aid qualification would go down well when you put your proposition to local businesses who are looking for some unorthodox ways of getting their businesses noticed. Check our First Aid Training page for further details.
