New SIA Qualification in Manned Guarding

ASTS can now offer Security Training in the new level 2 award in Security Guarding.

Manned Guard Training
The National open college Network (NOCN) and the Security Industry Training Organisation (SITO) have launched the new level 2 award in manned guarding. The new qualification is tailored exactly to the requirements of manned guarding and has been approved by the SIA.
The achievement of this manned guarding qualification, or equivalent is a requirement for all security officers to undertake this security training to obtain the SIA licence which will be introduced from January 2005.
This manned guarding qualification, which was the first to be approved by the QCA on August 9th, comprises of two units of security training:

Unit 1: The roles and responsibilities of a security officer/Manned
guard.
Unit 2: Communication & Conflict Management for the manned
guard
